   Well, having already done that once, I was a bit frustrated. Plus, when I put a bit of negative pressure on the transducer hole (yes, by sucking on it), it went to 0 ft but did NOT surface and exit dive mode. This led me to suspect that it was not a transducer problem but a computer glitch. Normally with electronic crap, I will take the battery out to reset everything and do a hard reboot. Can't do that on the VRX because the battery is rechargeable and not user-accessible.

   SO I turned the backlight to the constant on setting, as well as the LED torch. Within a few hours I had completely drained the battery. I then plugged in the charger, and when it started back up it was working just fine, not in dive mode anymore. Now, I lost all my dive log information, but I don't really care because I don't ever download the VRX anyway. Why would I when the APD logging software is so good and I download my Evo lid after every day's diving.

   Funky way to solve the problem, and shouldn't be necessary on a $2,000 piece of kit, but it works like a charm underwater, and I still like it.
